Model Liu Hao as chinese Snape.

I was looking at very expensive Gucci lipsticks but eventually lost myself desperately searching for a model because I’ve been struck by how much he reminded me of Severus (nothing new about it...). I’ve discovered how spot on is asian Snape thanks to this artwork by @suffer-my-displeasure​ and also lately I’ve come across different asian models, photographers and magazines and I’m obsessed with their beauty and work... so I think I’m in some kind of spiral right now. 🤷

 black muslim. in which spinner’s end is a mostly muslim community

i just realised snape covering himself up completely could easily be read as him complying with islamic rules of conduct

he is a shia and has a zebibah, a dark mark on his forehead from praying on a turbah, a raised piece of clay

he is more irritable on ramadhan than any other part of the year, not because of the hunger and the thirst or the long hours of prayer during the night but because he can’t curse at people. he also limits himself from performing dark arts after talking with his mother

during eid festivals he returns home. very few people celebrate eid in hogwarts and he craves having a community around him

eid meant gift giving, greeting everyone with a smile and a ‘eid mubarak,’ it meant celebrating and being celebrated.

though he didn’t like slaughtering goats. his father used to bring him along before eid prayers. the neighbourhood was too poor for every family to afford an animal so they would pool money together and perform the ritual as a community. severus was expected to help as soon as he turned ten

the food is always fantastic and he usually gets a few pounds from the older members of the congregation so that’s great

Do you know any good poc snape fancasts? Just wondering :) thx

sorry if this reply is super late, i’m not on tumblr much these days. so off the top of my head, i don’t really know the names of any bipoc who are most commonly used when fancasting snape. but fancasts are subjective, ya know? so you can just choose whoever feels right to you. i recommend doing searches on pinterest but here are a couple people i might look at as a jumping off point too:

- Oscar Isaac (if you search “annihilation” his style in that gives me snape vibes) - Justin Chon (there are some good pics of him out there w/ longer hair that isn’t the awful late 2000s style they had him in for twilight) - Chiwetel Ejiofor (i think he could really pull off the classic stern snape look) - Marwan Kenzari (he’s in his mid-thirties which is a more accurate representation of how old snape would’ve been during harry’s era) - David Castañeda (another younger choice, would be good especially w/ his s2 umbrella academy hair) - Angel Bismark Curiel (i think he’s the youngest on my list so he would be good for late marauders era stuff)
