Adding up another one to the series of #PocariSweatRun medals! 2014 - JKT - 5K 2015 - JKT - 5K 2016 - JKT - Half Marathon 2017 - BDO - Marathon 2018 - BDO - 5K 2019 - BDO - Marathon 2020 - VR - 10K 2021 - BDO - 10K Last time I made this medal streak post was on 2019, and at that time, I didn’t have 10K medals just yet. Fast forward 2 years, now have two of them! Both for virtual race on 2020 and in-person race just last week! Don’t have much to say about 2020 event, but hell yeah lets talk a bit about 2021 in-person event! Few days before the event, all information related to the event rolling into my inbox. Carefully reading everything coz yeah, those tight health & safety measures definitely changing everything. On race day, that racing vibes was felt allover! Despite those tight protocols and crews consistently and politely reminding and announcing to not huddling in big groups, keeping the distance, wearing mask at all time before start, everyone was all smiles! Race village layout was slightly different yet simple and easy to navigate. Prior entering, everyone need to go through a mandatory on-the-spot swab test. Passed the test, then you are allowed to enter the race village where you can see the starting pen. Race start sequence divided into 10 waves (A-J, I was at wave I) with 3 minutes start gap between each wave. Each wave also limited to maximum 50 runners. And yes, mask is still on. Route was sooo enjoyable, probably due to limited number of participants and also wave start, and marshals, and also police officers, was doing their job perfectly to assist racers and managing the traffic. A bit sad to see a cyclist deliberately kicking off road cone due to road closure…and yes I stopped to put back the cone in place. As the first in-person race event after so long, a big kudos to the race organizer for making this happen. @gading.santoso21, @berthagani, @danial_ovie, @sirico, @muarars, once again, congrats! Deft looking forward for Pocari Sweat Run 2022 in-person event!
