Maybe wizard hats are a thing because they’re pocket dimensions for magical storage. I mean, obviously it’s a fashion statement and it covers up any bald spots that can’t be magically fixed (that way lies werewolves; best not to try). But what if any self-respecting wizard has a whole castle full of supplies hidden in their hat? I’d certainly want one.

can souls cross dimensions and if so does that mean alcor follows Mable's soul across dimensions?

Not really.

Crossing dimensions is an incredibly rare and difficult-to-do thing. It basically requires a huge amount of power to create an opening, and that opening has disastrous consequences for the dimensions in question. As an example from the show, Bill and his demon friends can’t do it on their own and they need an incredibly complicated portal created for them to do so, and it damages reality to activate it. Even Alcor has a very hard time dimension hopping, which is part of why he almost never does (the other reason being that he’s afraid he’ll grow too attached to the alternate dimension and never return home).

Because of this, it’s so unlikely that a soul would just slip through to another dimension that the chance is basically negligible. Now, I could see there being a story where universe-shattering circumstances play out such that a portal opens, and then a soul accidentally slips through the opening while it’s there. But barring that, a soul probably would not be able to dimension hop.

Pocket dimensions, on the other hand, are a completely different thing. Despite the name they aren’t actually dimensions, they’re just extradimensional space contained within a dimension. A soul could end up trapped in one completely by accident depending on where the entrance is. Alcor has historically had difficulty locating people who were hidden in pocket dimensions, but he tends to get there in the end.

I could see there being a story about a stable pocket dimension that Mizar’s soul slips into completely on accident, and they end up growing up there with no knowledge of the outside world. Alcor would be able to tell that Mizar had reincarnated but he wouldn’t immediately know where they were, so I could see that being a way he’d have to end up tracking Mizar down.

What their fantasy lives would look like? They would all be drastically different!

Dark would want a place where he’s in complete control, where Mark isn’t a threat and the whole community is on his side. Wilford doesn’t care, he just wants a place to wreak havoc freely and have fun, fun, fun! The Host wants his visions to be pain-free -- and he wouldn’t mind if his unrequited love for Amy was reciprocated. 

Dr. Iplier and Google want to be rid of Dark torturing them. Edward wants his brother, Chef Iplier, alive again, and Google wants to be free of the “Okay, Google” trigger words. Bing wants a world where he’s the superior search engine and Google is forgotten. Bim and Yandere both want a world that revolves around them and the ones they love. 

Edgar wishes he had more of the community’s affection. Silver Shepherd wants a safe place for Roxanne, and the respect of the others so they’ll stop bullying him. The King of the Squirrels would just love a free, open space to run; he’s not picky, he just wants a healthy environment. The Jims would love some non-stop mysteries and adventures!

Magnum would happily stay on the sea forever with his crew and lots of treasure. Yancy may play up his reputation, but he might want to see his parents alive again. Illinois would like to have his partner Y/N by his side, as long as no harm will come to them like his last associates.

ok so ya’ll know how in canon the Fentons pull their huge ass ghost weapons from seeming nowhere? Hear me out. 

Pocket dimensions. Their pockets open up into their own personal pocket dimensions. 

Like, they're scientists who have opened portals to other dimensions,right? Who says they haven't experimented with the technical things. Things such as how big they could be, if they could be held open, if you can go in/put things in there, if they can have an practical uses etc... If you're gonna work to open up a huge ass portal at a specific destination, getting good at opening up portals to smaller, unspecific locations would be good practice to make their theory sound. 

Given how they have invented things ranging from a ghost fighting robo suit to a ghost proof bat, including small gateways to pocket dimensions in their suits dosent seem too far fetched. Especially if its part of testing the practicality of portals, and if it could be integrated to benefit their ghost-hunting by allowing for an easy way to carry and transport equipment. 

TLDR: Literal pocket dimensions is the exact kind of shit the Fenton parents would come up with and use.
