POCxPOC, We learn how to take care of each others hair types an we sit outside in the sun not worrying abt catching a tan cuz nobodies here to sell colorism to either of us. Couch in tha front yard an a cheap box tv on the porch so we can watch media that has us in it, an spit sunflower seed shells on the grass. Front yard instead of back because community closeness matters an I want the kids in our neighborhood to see healthy POC relationships an visible joy, cuz Ik I definitely didn’t see enough of that growing up. An we’ll have a garden growing all the foods that are overpriced at the grocery store cause they’re “exotic”, an around dinner you’ll grab what we need to cook an I’ll make it for you.
