Shavasana (poem)

In meditative repose I lie in shavasana, corpse pose. Breathing quietly in and out through my nose. Did I feed the cat? Should I put on the washing before work? Need to remember to call the dentist. Oh.. and I need to add milk to the Tesco list. And so my mind whirs on… No quiet thoughts to be found I focus on my breathing…in  and out… Seeking the stillness of the pose. Need to…

know you took a test or whatever but you ain’t got to be in the dark to put it all together, Just like you I lost my best friend too the only person who knows what my favorite time of day is  and why I smiled so much and care little less about everything else I bet everyone was thinking about the person they started to like or the person they can’t stand.  But anyways let me explain furthermore If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea, but all these things I’m finding, are impossible at the moment But faith is all you can have so I’ll throw it back on your side Just so I can be closer to you until the very end, wiping all your tears away, being your best friend. I’ll smile when you smile and feel all the pain you ,and if you cry a single tear, I promise I’ll cry too Because I know how this all feels I’ve been there too I think that’s why I can relate to you on different levels And truly I’m here for you forever, it’s what I want you to know. It’s what I want you to feel so don’t second-guess just believe it’s real I got love for you it’s undeniable, so believable Just writing these words that I thought I’d never say Means a lot more to me because I know you’ll see that it’s suppose to be you and me. I can feel it and I know you can too.
