#2
My love is like the sea
Ever changing
Yet ever constant
I will always be there for you
Yet I can never be complacent
Take me away
Along endless shores
Cross oceans with me
Swim through rivers
Hold me when the sun disappears
behind the horizon
Yet let me float away when the morning comes
and like the tide I will always come home
JOY
There is so much of it in this world.
So much of it in me.
So much I want to share—
a quiet, innocent joy
that feels too large to hold alone.
I see it in strangers’ laughter,
in dogs running without reason,
in leaves turning toward the sun.
It lives in all of us—
in every human,
every animal,
every growing thing.
We share this world together,
and somewhere between us
that joy keeps shining.
I see you only on my screen
I see you only in my dreams
Through glass
Through pixels
Through distances in thousands of miles
As well as just beyond your door
You, you have me sitting on my hotel room floor I’m calm. I pace. I sit.
My hands long to caress your smile
And as I learn to close my eyes
Feel both the treachery and beauty that is your soul
The masterful choice of words you select in every tune
What if these two souls, long been split Became one again?
Something I wrote in class today to try and stay awake.
#6
Writing is feeling
and as I write
my throat gets tighter
My heart gets heavier
Tears are forming
Treathening to fall
Slowly at first
Then they are pouring
Page after page
Slowly I can breathe again
My heart gets lighter
Writing is letting go
#5
I’m looking for some silence, yet the world doesn’t shut up
I’m looking for some quiet, yet my smartphone keeps calling for attention
I’m looking for some peace, yet my thoughts are turning me insane
#4
Count your blessings as if it’s money
that you saved penny for penny
Count them and remember them as valuable
as the teddybears that kept safe your bed
Treasure them in all their simplicity
as the rocks you found and coveted as a kid
You life will be brighter because of it
