Only the paranoid survive

I’ve painted enough of Mr Reese or Jim Caviezel so I thought I’d try my hand with Harold Finch and I’ll be honest I actually enjoyed it. I tried to do something delightfully macabre to celebrate the fact that Michael Emerson is a lover of skulls and to kind of get to the crooks of Finch. When I did this, I didn’t have an explanation why.....just that I fancied a challenge, however if you have followed Person of Interest and in particular Finch’s story, in some ways this picture might reflect his survivors guilt, that no matter what he does to try and protect the ones he loves, something terrible always happens to them and he always escapes by the skin of his nose, that essentially Finch is a deadman walking and that his good intentions always seems to bring death....you kinda do have to feel for him. Anyway......that’s about a good an explanation as I can muster but I will leave you with an even better one that a friend of mine put while helping me decide on a background.

But the face has a dark background, or a past, which people don’t always see before it’s too late. The skull has a clear background suggesting he is good, like ghost rider, which insinuates that even though he looks scary, he is one of the few good ones. Do not judge at first glance, the average person may be the monster you fear and not the monster you see.”
