This one hurts bad.
I wanted to make some art after the news of Anthony Head’s passing earlier this week, but I was imminently going travelling so I couldn’t find the time, until now.
Anthony’s work has been so core to my life, in my childhood as Uther Pendragon in Merlin, Mr Finch in the School Reunion episode of Doctor Who, and taking me up to last year, when I watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time. Giles became my favourite on the second episode. My friends noted that they’d never seen me fall in love with a character that fast.
It’s such a terrible heartache on the world to lose him, in not just himself and his artistic work, but also in his advocacy work and allyship of the trans community. He was vocally supportive of numerous causes and it seems people only have wonderful things to say about him. He’ll be sorely missed.
