I’m doing one “haunted” location in Winnipeg per day for the week leading up to Halloween. This is the former site of the Barber House in Winnipeg’s Point Douglas. It used to look really scary, all big and old and grey and run down, and I think it was on fire at some point. They turned it into a community centre/daycare a few years ago, but before that it was a rundown, abandoned piece of crap building, like the hundreds of others in this shitty city. People used to see lights in the windows and people moving around inside, but instead of coming to the logical conclusion that an empty building in a desperately poor area where teens and squatters have no where to go is like to attract attention, they decided it was haunted. Haunted by your last beer, more like. I would give this a -1/10 on the haunted meter, because it is the north end and also because some asshole is feeding cats next to the bird feeder.
