Bob Kroll defeated John Delmonico to become the new president of the MPD union. Kroll has a history of brutality (once resulting in a demotion) and referred to Rep. Keith Ellison as a "terrorist" (Ellison was the first Muslim elected to the U.S. House). Delmonico was just the guy who accused Mayor Betsy Hodges of making a gang sign when she and a constituent awkwardly pointed at each other in a video. This is going to be fucking awful, and everyone should expect a more combative union against any actions or initiatives pushed by Hodges or Chief Harteau.
