“Alright guys, keep where I can see ya.”

Syph had thought today was a good day to visit a part of Akala Island and allow some of the residential Pokemon of the Daycare to stretch and get some exercise. So the Wela Volcano area seemed like a perfect place. With her small, vulpix on guard with her and a giant, fluffy behemoth of an Arcanine keeping an eye out, the baby Pokemon ran and played.

Little Hoshi, the baby absol, perked his head up though when he caught a whiff of an unfamiliar Pokemon, starting to wander off a bit. “Huh?” Syph turned her head, moving to follow after him,” Hoshi, sweetie, you can’t be wandering off like...huh?”

“Hey guys, we have a nine-four-three quarantine breach.” The figure in a stark white hazmat suit spoke into his receiver, pointing his tools at the stranger watching a group of ultra beasts.

Dana was fairly light due mostly to he stunted growth and under average height for a child of her age. Therefore, it made her very easy to lift up. Dana  “I’m here. I wanna play here,” she said, giggling while her little hands grasped at the finger booping her nose.  “I want...play at here,” she babbled some more to him, occasionally getting distracted by the goings on around them. “Aether busy? It has Pokemon in it? I want see Pokemon,” the now wiggling and excited child said. “Oh yeah...I Dana. That’s my name.”

Someone has been found face-down on the floor in the middle of Po Town. It is a short young woman with black hair, identified with a burnt beige cape. A small trickle of blood is next to her face.

Someone give this poor girl some help.

“Right.” Valerie nodded, then waited for the professor to go through. After looking back at the factory for a quick glance, Valerie followed through.

It felt so strange compared to using the sign. It was like having her body be pulled apart by the smallest pieces as she stepped in. Going out, all of those small pieces were smashed back together by an electrical force.

“Professor? I don’t think your device is working.”

This new place was so familiar. The florescent lights beamed down on sterile white walls and tables. In the corner was a labeled teleportal next to a sign “Lᴀʙᴏʀᴀᴛᴏʀʏ 3″. Other than the two people and the cutiefly in the room, the only spot of color was provided by a fake potted plant in the corner opposite of the teleportal.

Before either could analyze the location any further, the door clicked open. A man in a black longsleeve uniform and cap rushed in, the red R blazened brightly on his chest. He reacted quickly, pulling up a hanheld radio to his face. “I have confirmation on the intruders in Laboratory 3!”

Recovery of a Sign

Valerie got up from the chair. There was no choice but to give it a try. It would be better to do it here, where there were few chances of a wild pokemon coming to interfere or get in danger. Flutter rubbed Valerie’s cheek with her fuzzy body. Valerie scooped up the Cutiefly and put her down on the table. “Stay here, I don’t want you hurt if things go bad.”

Valerie turned back to the empty floor where she had room to draw. This was the moment of truth. “Capture on!”

With the command, the disc moved from the table, jumping to the floor. Valerie flicked her wrist with the capture styler’s dock outwards from her body, guiding the disc. Behind the disc was a line that radiated a whole spectrum of hues.

One final flick of the wrist completed the shape, before Valerie’s other hand slammed on the recall button on the capture styler. As the disc clicked back into place, a blinding light filled the pokemon center cafe, along with a high pitched scream.

When things stopped spinning, Valerie lowered her hand from her eyes. She expected to see some type of entry to Ultra Space. Instead, she, the Professor, and Flutter were at what appeared to be the outside of an old factory.

“That was.... odd.”
