Tyranitar Variations
Tyranitar! Such a classic kaiju Pokemon design, and a hunky competitive cutie. I’ve been in love with Tyranitar since I met it in Pokemon Silver. <3
I really love Mega T-Tar too; maybe we’ll get some mega variations going on eventually, but Tyranitar is surprisingly difficult to draw correctly - I had two false starts. His original design actually has more spikes than the later versions, and his body didn’t really have any anatomy structure until later official art as well, where he gets more pear-shaped (and the anime is even more distinct.) And he’s really only two colors and a tongue.
These were fun to think about! The Monster egg group really is full of some classic kaiju design if you take a close look. xTyrantrum swoon, LOOK AT THAT HANDSOME DINOSAUR BOY. xSlowbro was sort of a joke but he made such a cute Bowser-like creature and I loved the concept of a GIANT SHELLDER. And I couldn’t resist xKangaskhan even though I almost skipped it, because of that little baby Larvitar. ;w; I die.

Decided to post them here too but in english: Normal you already know them. From places of very high voltage: I came up with this variation thanks to Professor Julie from scientificpokedex and a text about an experiment in which rats that were under the effect of this type of areas emited dangerous lvls of toxic gas ozone, so these Raichu have both cheeks and tail in blue tones. These pokemon tend to have rebel and wild personalities, and so they are hard to train. They also dislike humans more than what normal Raichu do. Pinkan Berry lovers: They love pinkan berries and their alimentation are based on them, that’s why they’re pink. These Raichu are usually friendly and relaxed, they also tend to be fatter than normal Raichu. It’s better not to joke around by hiding their berries as they would get very sad. Not totally evolved: This happens when a Pikachu evolves with a broken thunder stone. These Raichu share color palette with Pikachu and have a more wide yet shorter tail. Their stats are the same as the ones from any Raichu. Personality wise they’re friendly. They sleep a lot.
Worldwide variation in Fletchling (Erithracus sp).
Many trainers are surprised to find out that the hyper-aggressive Common Fletchling (Erithracus longicauda) is just one of the numerous Fletchling species present across the world!
I tried to keep these designs within the Muscicapids, but had to dip into some of my favorite Parulid insectivores too. Cookies if you can name all the inspiration species on your own, but you can also read on about each species:
which one is the right tag for pokemon variations anyway?
Sudenly a lot of pokefusions/pokevariants/pokevariations have appeared o my dashboard and wanting to distract my self a bit I did this XDDD
Another Pokevariant, this time with my all-time fave!
Type 1: Grassland/Foothill (Pokemon Tower/Kanto Routes 9 & 10/Sevault Canyon/Unova Route 15/Kanto Safari Zone) While the Mountain type is equally common, the Lavender Town incident involving Team Rocket has secured the Grassland Type’s role as the most common public image of the species.
Type 2: Highland/Mountain (Rock Tunnel/Kanto Routes 9 & 10/Kanto Victory Road/Unova Route 15/Glittering Cave) Longer limbs and stronger, hooked claws make these Cubone and Marowak especially adept climbers. Unlike Grassland Type, the Marowak retains back spikes on evolution.
Type 3: Deep Cave (Rock Tunnel/Glittering Cave) Aside from their washed-out coloring, lack of spines or ridges, and large nostrils, the Cave type Marowak’s horns are pliant and able to detect tremors and vibrations. This type is also known to use their clubs as an additional tool to feel their way in darkness.
Type 4: Desert (Glittering Cave/Johto Safari Zone) Their hide is pebbled as opposed to the smooth texture of most Cubone and Marowak, further toughening them against sandstorms. The spikes on their back and tail have developed into sails that aid in dispersing heat.
Type 5: Coastal (RARE; may be found where range coincides with shoreline) Seen domesticated far more often than wild, this type is favored by Coordinators for their coral-like horns, water-ripple patterning, and stark contrast between skull and hide. They possess slight webbing on the forepaws and are notable for favoring fishbone flails over the more usual bone club.
Meanwhile this bandwagon’s still going, i might as well do a few variations for one of my absolute favorite Pokemon - Lickitung ~
Noisy, Jagged and Bloated versions are mainly bred for battle use, Striped and Short-tailed Lickitungs are meant to be good companions, and Dino and Glamourus are for contests and are also bred for their ‘appealing’ looks.
