MY FRIEND IS BRINGING ME A POLISH CHICK TOMORROW 😭❤️🥰🤯

I don't know what I did to have such an amazing person in my life to just bring me one of the chicks that I want most in the world, but here I am 🥰

And in other news, my mom deemed earlier that, "I would make the perfect housewife if I wasn't such a stuck up who wouldn't listen to a man." 😂😂😂

I don't know what she excepted, seeing as how she always told me to never get married, lmao (I definitely would get married, I just don't like being bossed around, lol).

BUT, I have been super productive today. I'm making a sourdough loaf, a chocolate wine cake, I scrubbed the house from top to bottom AND cleaned out the chicken coops and run today. 😁

Stick it to the Man, I'll be a homemaker for my damn self. 😂

HAPPY LITTLE FAMILY

Two White Crested Black Polish chicks hatched on Friday and the mystery black chick which hatched Thursday with their mama. She’s a first timer and doing a great job so far. Doesn’t like me messing with her little happy family. Just leave the food, water and git out!

WHITE CRESTED BLUE POLISH b. January 15, 2015

This little sweetie is so pretty. The front of its crest is blue (gray) the back is white. Quite a little personality as well.

I have recently received a bunch of "Top Hat" birds. This is one of them. Watching their headpieces develop is a delight. I like that you can see here how feathers grow in — in bundles, kind of like pine needles.

Two photos down is the same chick as a 2-day old.

POLISH CHICK about 1 week old

Not sure of the color - though it might be a buff-laced polish but they appear to be solid white as chicks, could be a red-crested red. From Ideal hatchery. Pretty thing.

BUFF LACED POLISH (Hen and Chick) - Sunday 7 (#4)

The bottom photo is the picture that inspired me to start raising chickens many years ago. I had never seen a fancy breed before and I just loved the way this bird looks.

The first go-around I bought leftover chicks from a feed store - Barred Rocks, a Cochin, Seabrights, and Cornishes. I still have most of them. Over time I ordered other breeds but Polish never fit into the plan.

Until now...

Ideal Hatchery offered baby chicks at $1 apiece and I bought the minimum. They are all "Top Hat" breeds. Polish, Houdan, Crevecoeur, Sultans. Really pretty birds.

Their prominent crest is caused by a protuberance, or knob, atop the bird's skull, from which the feathers grow.

The bottom chick photo is a white Crested Black Polish, and a Sultan. The Sultan will be solid white as an adult. It have all of the poultry bells and whistles - crest, beard, muff, extra toes, V-comb, blue ears (I think),

The bottom hen is an adult White Crested Black Polish Chicken. Fashionable!
