but i think you should know that people can write eren however they want in the same way i can criticize them for glorifying abusive/toxic behavior and consequently ruining a good character.

freedom to do does not mean freedom of criticism and consequence.

I would like to take this time to introduce myself. In these times of great political dissent and emotional turmoil, I would like to make a few things clear. Everyone seems very quick to judge, without giving it a second thought. I am hoping that when you read anything I write, that you can take a moment to try and understand where I'm coming from. Put yourself in my shoes and go into it believing that I am on your side. I have never been one for social media, and it is truly unfortunate that I even feel the need to write this. But since you don't know me yet, that I am just words on a page, of someone you've never heard of, it's necessary to preface my future scribblings in this way.

I am on your side for one reason only. I think everyone deserves to have a personal perception that is healthy and works for them. I feel that through a lot of inner reflection and existential pondering I am ready to share my thoughts in the hopes that I can help you in some way. I am not here to judge, simply put, I would like to give you something to think about on your own. There are a lot of things in this fickle, perpetually changing, social climate that could be considered to be a double standard. I think that since information is flying at you from all directions , that these issues deserve some time to be reflected on.

I am a person, like you, and for that I feel as though we should try and get along. This doesn't mean that I am uninterested in having a conversation when our opinions differ. I would welcome this. What is clear at this time, is that there are many differences of opinion. It's our differences that make us unique, and I would love to try and see things from your point of view as well. Everyone is so afraid to have any sort of disagreement these days due to a fear of being labeled with a pejorative, hurtful term. Without well thought out, logical disputes, we have no hope of changing anything for the better. People will continue to close themselves off, at detriment to themselves, since eventually they will become so used to living in fear of speaking their mind that they will instantly adopt views they disagree with. This will cut down on one's ability to think critically, or form your own stance.

I have broken my absence from social media because I think all the infighting between humans has gone too far. I would like to have kids one day, but as the world currently stands, it seems unsuitable. I want to be able to look back and say that I did the best I could to gently prod people in the right direction.

We are all in this together. As of now we are stuck here, in this particular reality.

There should be no judgement between us, since no one is without sin. So let's try and help each other out, and have perfectly healthy, logic based discussions, intellectually stimulating debates, and strive towards changing the destructive thoughts that are currently permeating society.

Polite discourse

I wanna have some polite, civil discourse chats. About anything. I don't care what side you take, I'm gonna be respectful of it regardless so long as you do the same. I'm mostly thinking lgbt+ discourse, because that's what most people seem to have strong opinions about, but anything controversial is chill with me.
