Feminist bus in Iceland

Hey!

Do you think it’s unfair when men say stuff like: “Women just need to be more proactive about asking for pay raises!” - “Women just need to dare to ask for those promotions!” - “Women just need to try harder... do more... blah blah blah”?

Well, so does a group of Icelandic feminists who have coined an Icelandic phrase for this: “Konur Þurfa Bara að Vera Duglegri að...” (KÞBVD) - or “Women Just Need to Be Better at...”

It’s sarcastic and it’s meant to raise awareness for how women somehow end up taking the blame for how the patriarchy consistently favours men above women.

Now the bus company in Reykjavík is having a contest where you can decorate a bus and then people are allowed to vote for their favourite. The bus with the most votes will actually end up driving around Reykjavík!
