The Blue Fairies are a supernatural race that consists of different figures whom represent different concepts, such as love, leadership, happiness, nostalgia, evil, etc. They are lead by one fairy in particular, Pionana, the embodiment of leadership and chivalry who lead them to live on a second moon called La Lune. They also orbit the Earth, but slower, and don’t affect it in any way.
The fairies are organized into color ranks. Despite all being generalized as blue fairies, not all of them are.
Pionana- Not really a rank, but can be considered one to some degree. Since Pionana is the name of their leader, it became synonymous with authority.
Blue- The highest rank underneath their authority. These are the fairies that are the ones who embody the concepts.
Violet- Second highest. These are usually knights or the ones whom patrol the earth. Most fairies in this rank that don’t report back to Pionana are usually ones whom meddle in human affairs and cut ties with where they came from. The rest report back to the fairies in La Lune.
Green- Third highest. These ones adapt human tendencies and deliver them to the Blue and Violet fairies. They are basically a rank that fixes the defect Violet ones, so while they are a rank below, they actually are very much leveled.
Yellow/Gold and red- The fourth and (official) final rank. They are all leveled together, and are sort of like servants. Usually, the red ones work with the blue fairies, and the yellow with Violet and (rarely) Green.
Black and Red- There is only one of this kind, and rather than it being an unofficial rank, it’s actually a race. The only fairy in this category is one named Opposite, the embodiment of evil. She cannot have her ‘rank’ leveled with red due to how dangerous she is, so she isn’t really on the scale.
The good thing about these ranks is how peaceful these fairies are, despite any of the Blue fairies and their embodiments. There is practically no abuse among the system, and Pionana keeps it in check. They are all respectful, and Opposite is, thankfully, asleep.
Some fairies in the stories include-
Pionana- Embodiment of leadership and chivalry
Malvina- A Violet-Red fairy mix. She’s the personal knight and guardian of Pionana, as well as a sort of lady-in-waiting.
Nostalgia- Embodiment of Nostalgia and memories
Evana- Embodiment of passion and dedication
Tenor- Embodiment of tenacity
Oublier- Embodiment of forgetfulness
Memoir- Technically not a fairy yet, but she is an experiment by the grandchild of a man named Dr. Arlo. Memoir is the first attempt at a human-fairy mixture. Most likely to be a Violet fairy. She is the personal guardian of Nostalgia and takes care of him quite often.
The fairies have an ongoing rivalry with an army called the Kudzu Army, which is lead by different men related to each other, all made from Kudzu. With this, comes many battles from all different types of fairies, no matter whom or status.
To finish off, there is a tradition many of the blue fairies hold very dear. It is the act of rebirth. To refresh their power, they often go into cycles of rebirth by becoming different things or people. They assume names and when the time comes, they encounter Malvina and Pionana, then ascend to La Lune where they are given a choice. They could either go to La Lune to be their fairy selves, or descend back to Earth where they could stay a fairy, but have a lot of power lowered (for safety precautions) and never return to their fairy brethren.
The story they are present in is Where the Love Begins/my Where the __ begins series.
Where the Love Begins- blurbs about the protagonists
Pollyanna- A curious and child-like marionette, Pollyanna is in a Pinocchio state. Instead of wanting to be real, she simply wants to learn to eat! She has pretty protective creators, but they decided to let her find the wood herself- and she ends up going on a grand adventure through different countries! While not particularly malevolent, she does fall into a state where she accepts rivalry by the Kudzu Army. Though, she’s quite ignorant, so she doesn’t realize real danger. She’s very affectionate, and is the only one that Pavone willfully tears off tail feathers for. Pavone- A beautiful peacock woman, a part of the Animana (human/humana-animal) race. She is known for her feathers that, if are left astray but returned, she’d reward the finder with a kiss! She is very fashion forward and advanced in the latest technology. Rosso Madera- Family friendly, big, and just an overall piece of joy are just the minimum of how to describe Rosso. With a redwood tree grown on his back (Flouran race- plant-hybrid people) and his tall stature, he’s the perfect one to travel with. Homesick? Not a problem, Rosso is so warm, he loves to make people feel at home! Sister Rita- A holy woman who wishes to be a Mother Superior in the church, and also run the best damn choir in not only her home country of Giocattolo, but the world! Serious, motherly, and positively enchanting. She wields the Holy Sword of Goliath, but only kills with magic rather than the actual blade. Zodiac- A cat of the Birman type Animana, Zodiac is rather permanently angered and upset. Instead of saying anything, he looks the part perfectly. Though, with his animalistic tendencies, he is one to curl up to his friends and rest. While everyone joined Pollyanna on her quest due to a strange natural order, Zodiac joined for Pavone- or, well, her tail feathers. He won’t admit it, but he does want at least a little affection, some that he doesn’t get from the jaded tribe.
