Among poly lotus, who leans more into big spoon and who leans more into little spoon

Also who is the most likely to be a weighted blanket? cause i don't think Bumi can be on top of someone cause he's like probably the heaviest one and it's too much weight on the others old bones

Funny enough, when I initially started shipping Poly Lotus, I thought it was both funny and kinda cute to imagine Bumi starfishing over the four of them.

But now that you mention it, he would ironically be the heaviest out of the five & they would all start getting uncomfortable and hot if his big ass body just lays on top of them. Though perhaps Bumi can have his arms around someone and that can be like a weighted-blanket-experience.

So I guess the next best candidates are Iroh and Jeong Jeong would be the weighted blankets, particularly when it gets cold and they need extra body warmth.

In terms of who leans to big spoon & who leans to little spoon… I’d say Bumi and Pakku. They both have the habit of grabbing onto the others whenever they’re sleeping or just laying together in bed. Jeong Jeong often ends up typically being small spoon alot. Iroh and Piandao don’t mind being either or really.

It’s honestly pretty interchangeable who’s small spoon and whos big spoon.

To answer the 2nd question, from a range from “likes company/NEEDS to do things with someone” to “Love you but pls leave me alone,” it’s as follows:

Pakku - Bumi & Iroh & Jeong Jeong - Piandao

For someone who’s cold, Pakku grew up in a communal culture and was rather lonely for a while. So he likes to do things with the people he cares about, especially if he loves them.

Bumi, Iroh, & Piandao are in the middle-ish range of “I like company but I also don’t mind being by myself.” Bumi’s been alone and is fine being alone for periods of time, but enjoys the company of a lover and/or a friend. Iroh is pretty similar to Bumi in that sense as well. Jeong Jeong wouldn’t mind having company but there are times where he needs time to just let himself immerse in his hobbies.

Piandao is the one out of the five who often prefers to be left alone since he needs a lot of concentration to take part of his hobbies. As long as any of his partners can keep a distance and don’t disturb him too harshly, he’s fine with it.

Honestly, it’s more of a case-by-case basis with most of them & how they’re feeling at that moment. But for certain, Pakku’s the type to likes having someone be with him when doing hobbies & Piandao’s the type that, for certain hobbies, he prefers to be left alone:

In modern au would the poly lotus have something like movie night or game night?

Game night for SURE.

Sometimes they watch a movie here and there but games are where it’s at for these gentlemen. Pai-sho, mahjong, mancala, their equivalence to that of checkers and chest? Classic. If any card games or board games are involved, shit gets serious.

Bumi’s an average cheating ragebaiter and loves to tease & bluff, even when bluffing isn’t necessary for the game. It’s hard to read him sometimes.

Pakku is the ragebaitee in these cases and if they prod him enough, he gets aggressively competitive.

Iroh is fairly competitive with the way he plays and often tries to play fair (though like Bumi, he sometimes plays a cheat-hack one way or another) for the amusement of it.

Jeong Jeong funny enough goes along with it. Sometimes he takes the game a bit seriously, other times he kind of fucks around and keeps cracking jokes. In a way, this too is a tactic.

Piandao tries to keep composure and be as normal as possible about playing, but like Pakku, he too can get competitive and cocky.

It’s fun watching Piandao and Pakku duke it out over what’s essentially their version of Uno.

All poly lotus have long hair or at least it's not too short that it can't be tied to a simple ponytail

So I'm thinking they probably have some kind of ornament or accessories that reminds them of their partner

Also i need them to have like a hair braiding or hair brushing session cause i think it's cute, also idk if that's Jeong Jeong natural hair state or that he doesn't brush it often but the others would definitely try to brush it out and give him a little braid

I AGREE. I imagine hair is a pretty significant thing among the polycule due to cultural significance, and so taking care of one another’s hair, as well as styling hair, is considered a shared love language between the five.

I imagine each of the five have hair beads for each other, which was introduced by Pakku (I headcanon that the Water Tribes would add beads to their hair and braid them in to signify a loved one).

I personally think that Jeong Jeong’s hair actually doesn’t naturally look like that, and is more so due to years of not getting a proper shower and having little hair-care, his hair just looks like a legit birds nest TvT

So the moment the others decided yo help Jeong Jeong’s wash and brush his hair, you can imagine the utter BLISS this man felt after years of being starved of physical touch and contact. Not to mention, it’s just relaxing to having someone you can trust touch your hair :3

I feel like all of poly lotus can cook and is allowed in the kitchen except for Bumi

Would they sometimes have a poll or vote on cook dinner or get takeout?

Funny enough, I like to think Bumi CAN cook but he chooses not to to.

Mainly because there’s something more amusing to watch his partners bustle about in the kitchen like a collective working system of cooks. Chopping, cleaning, prepping, stir-frying, sautéing, chattering. Their voices fill the room with this presence, this warmth that Bumi had longed for ages. It makes home feel less empty and more full, more cramped but cozy.

He doesn’t mind being the taste-tester or the helper, but he doesn’t further intrude. Aside from quietly hovering over to see what they’re doing and either being met with a wooden spoon or a witty remark (In Piandao’s case, he’s so concentrated, he doesn’t even realize Bumi’s there).

And to actually answer your question, they would probably decide every night whether or not they wanna eat out or cook. Since they all have their taste buds and preferences, sometimes they split up and individually eat what they wanna eat that night. It took some getting used to, but it was the better system for the five of them.

Some nights they all cook and eat the same meals, and save the rest as leftovers. Other times they get take out and either sit outside the restaurant or usually head home. And other times it’s a mix of both depending on the individual. Iroh and Pakku cook their meals more often, while Jeong Jeong, Piandao, & Bumi would go out to grab something to eat and bring back something home for the other two. Or vice versa.

Who would be the most protective? Who would be the one who needed the most “damsel in distress” rescuing on The rare occasions that they are incapacitated?

HEHEHEHE okay okay so.

To be honest, I for one feel like it often switches between the five of them and it’s never really consistent as the five are aware that each and every one of them is capable of protecting themselves, but with that being said I think Pakku, Piandao, and Iroh are the most protective.

Pakku’s more protective in a sense that it may be considered somewhat insufferable because how he can often butt in, even though he knows he shouldn’t. It even reaches the point of him being clingy (he and Jeong Jeong bicker because of the this; Iroh tries to humor them, Bumi’s just laughing, and Piandao finds it somewhat annoying but he loves them too much to say anymore).

Piandao is probably the third most protective in a sense that’s similar to Iroh in that when it comes to battle and the occasional public clash. Always ready to defend someone he cares for. Even to the point of threats maybe? Though for most of the time, he wouldn’t be as clingy in his protectiveness

Iroh is the type to know whenever he can interfere and defend any perceived threat or insult (even in the most subtle way possible) thrown at ppl he cares for & when he should back off. Albeit, he had grown more relaxed over the years, but that protective nature is still there.

Bumi & Jeong Jeong fall into the category of protective in which it’s only and ONLY if ever their lover is truly unable to protect themself — whether in a vulnerable or incapacitated state

With that mind, In terms of who’s ever occasional the “damsel in distress,” it’s ironically either Piandao, Pakku, or Jeong Jeong.

Much to Piandao’s annoyance, he can sometimes land in predicaments where he is either at his limits or exceeds his limitations and tires himself out that someone will come to his aid and get him outta there.

Pakku’s stupid sometimes and gets himself hurt in the pursuit of protecting others.

Jeong Jeong would sometimes get exhausted or feel fatigued to the point that he sometimes faints.

There are a variety of reasons for why each member would be protective as they would also be a “damsel in distress” and the list I’ve given you is pretty tentative as it really depends on what situation you put these guys into it & how they may react.

I will say though I feel like Bumi loves to play being the “damsel in distress” to be just be goofy — which his partners either find amusing or eye-roll worthy.

Love the idea that Jeong Jeong or Pakku would be the ones to wake up a partner to get some water. Pakku bc he acts all tough and yet is scared of a little dark (sure it has nothing to do with the moon going out certainly not)

And Jeong Jeong just seems like he would refuse to use his firebending even to just see if he didn’t have too, Se he drags one of the others to go with him to the scary dark 😂😂😂

Those headcanons are pretty old I will say and so my thoughts about them may have changed drastically! Though to say Pakku saying how he doesn’t like the dark implies the idea that when the moonlight not only was it dark within the world, but for a waterbender — it was in a sense traumatic. Losing your bending, a part of your being that has shapes your identity for even just a brief moment…

That loss of bending being tied to the moonless darkness would be an interesting feature as to why Pakku didn’t like the dark so much (as childish as that sounds to him).

As for Jeong Jeong, I can imagine him now asking someone to come with him so he isn’t going alone somewhere. Because sometimes it helps him feel better reassured and less anxious when traversing alone, especially in the dark.
