Day 1: Cooking

Today's polyship: HashiMadaMito

Hashirama doesn't know how to cook anything other than rice and noodles

Mito, on the other hand, has had great cooking skills since childhood, making cooking one of her favorite hobbies. She is usually the one who cooks for her husbands when both three arrive from some mission, usually diplomatic, which Madara thinks is extremely boring, but, being one of the founders, he is forced to attend

To Hashirama and Mito's surprise, sometime after the three of them decided to move in together, Madara also turned out to be a great cooker. "Cooking is the basic to living on your own, how could I not do it?" asked the Uchiha as if this skill was no big deal, besides wanting to tease Hashirama for his lack of cooking skills

Madara learned to cook from an early age, as he had lost his mother at an early age, and as his father was constantly not at home, he did what he could to not make his younger siblings (later only Izuna) hungry. As he was extremely perfectionist from an early age, he always sought to improve his skills and seek out different recipes, especially after the village was founded

Since then Madara and Mito have been cooking as a hobby of theirs. Hashirama obviously does his best to help them, as he watches how close they've all grown since then

They may not have a lot of free time, as they both had political commitments, whether specifically about their respective clans or about Konohagakure, but they do their best to have some time for themselves

One of the only good things (according to Madara) that political conventions brought was that they could usually get to know the culture of the place, which was different from their own, which certainly expanded their knowledge of general cuisine

Izuna climbs the steps of the temple, using chakra in order to leave the snow undisturbed.

The night is cold and lonely, but the moon is bright enough for him to see where he's going, even without the Sharingan.

The water in the chōzubachi has frozen over, but a quick katon takes care of that and Izuna relishes the warmth as he washes his hands. The touch of water to his lips feels like the breath of the divine, and he lets it run out of his cupped palms with respect. The sound of his coin in the saisen-bako is hollow, expected since this shrine is not a popular one, but the bell chimes sweetly, echoing in the still mountain air.

Izuna bows and claps his hands, holding his wish in his mind as he invokes the gods.

Silence creeps back into the world but not his heart, for that is all too full of emotion.

Jealous / Stargazing

Izuna looks up into the clear night sky.

It's beautiful, filled with a thousand stars, and they shine with a cold clear light.

They're only a distraction from what's really holding his attention though.

Even as he sits on the engawa, Hashirama-san walks past him and down into the garden.

The evening is still warm, though of course not as hot as it was during the height of summer, and there's really no need for the haori that the man drapes over nii-san's shoulders. Despite that, Izuna's brother doesn't reject it, instead leaning into his lover and tilting his head up for a kiss.

Izuna wants to frown at this blatant display of affection but he can't - not really. Nii-san and his wife, Hashirama-san even... they're just so good together.

They fit.

Them and their son, it could not be more obvious that they're a family.

A family that Izuna is not really a part of.

Birthday present / Hippie AU

I couldn't manage a hippie AU in this series - it just wasn't possible since this is a canon divergence AU - but I did allude to the idea that hippies tend to be associated with "altruism and mysticism, honesty, joy and nonviolence" which I found here.

Hashirama isn't non-violent but he is trying. 😝

Madara follows grumpily in Hashirama's wake as his best friend runs too and fro like an overgrown child.

Neither of their clans were consistently able to celebrate Tanabata when they were growing up, the harshness imposed by the war did not permit it, and Hashirama seems intent on changing that for Konohagakure.

Even to the extent of declaring it a celebration of the birth of their village.

It's ridiculous - they signed the peace treaty in winter, and it was named in spring - but there's no arguing with him. Or rather Madara did a lot of arguing but Hashirama could not be moved to see reason.

Even Mito thinks this is a good idea!
