Something I'm playing around with.

They've shared a nest before. Once, whilst Madara had been too tired to leave for his own home and too drunk to refuse the offer of staying with them. With Izuna gone on a mission, he didn't have any reason to go back at such late hours.

Madara would like to say that they cajoled him into it, yet he couldn't be sure. He didn't remember the getting to the nest part of that night. Only the moments before: when Hashirama offered him the invitation and Mito, at his own insistence, assured him he was welcome. Only the moments after: at dawn, when he had woken in between the two, with limbs entangled and scents mingling into something he still caught whiffs of to this day.

Madara did not let it happen again.

Sometimes, he felt the phantom warmth of their touch on his skin, felt their silk-like hair against his face and smelled their scents, light and warm — content. The wood and sage from Hashirama and the blackcurrant and rose of Mito. His own smoke and leather.

It was too... intimate. For him. He knew they shared nests with Tobirama, had been present when they offered them both places at their sides. Tobirama had agreed where he had refused. Izuna followed his lead on it, would not go unless he was also there.

Madara knew it meant nothing to them. Knew it was simply friendliness. The Senju were... loose with these things. There did not seem to be great importance in sharing cycles or nests, not like the Uchiha. For them it was, convenience.

For Madara...

It did not matter.

I'm sorry to bring this trope back but bidding for charity causes, Founders edition.

The village is built, the tension is high, the money is low, there's a lot of vulnerable people to take care of, so Hashirama’s brilliant idea is an auction.

The bidding price is low. The participation is voluntary (it's not, because Hashirama’s going to talk people into it, mainly Madara, who will wrestle people into it so he doesn't need to do it alone) and no one is forced to actually go along with the 24 hours rule, aka, you can pay and say goodbye without claiming your prize. Izuna also adds in a clause that bidding for yourself is allowed, in case no one wants to bid for someone (meaning an Uchiha). Hashirama agrees.

The list goes: Senju, Uchiha, Uzumaki, Hyuuga

The situation becomes tricky a little but Hashirama has a plan. He will bid for Mito, obviously. Mito will bid for Hashirama, of course. However they both end up competing for Madara. It's a little game, which leaves Madara terribly mortified.

Tobirama is going to bid for himself. He doesn't have time for this nonsense. However, Izuna is making it difficult for him. Unfortunately, Izuna has a budget and he loses. To mess with Izuna, Tobirama bids for him with a ridiculous amount, more than what Madara raised. So Izuna bluffs his way into wrangling more money out of Tobirama, which Tobirama takes on with glee. He is going to make Izuna pay for that anyway. For 24 hours straight.

People leave the event confused, wondering what the hell is the Founder's complicated relationship is.

Edit: Would be funny if Madara also bid for Izuna. Ignoring Hashirama and Mito staring at him from across the room. That's his baby brother and Tobirama. Not happening on his watch. (It does happen)
