King & Sons Pizzeria, Inc. - Hamburg Turnpike in Pompton Lakes, NJ
Chas was recommended King & Sons by a co-worker so we figured we would hit it up one day when we were in the area. Just from outward appearance, it looked kinda questionable, and the pizza selection itself just further cemented this. I settled on a white and Chas got a vodka parm because they were among the best looking options there. Now, the taste. The white was pretty good. The crust was a strange consistency, as it was very doughy with absolutely no crunch. It kinda tasted like a breadstick though, so it could've been worse. Cheese had a pretty good flavor and the slice wasn't too heavy, which white slices generally are.
Chas felt similarly about his vodka. It had the right kind of vodka sauce with a nice consistency for pizza. The issue came with the chicken, as it wasn't hot enough and was a little too dry. The sauce helped compensate for this though. Chas liked the thicker crust, however his was definitely crispier than mine. Overall, King & Sons was pretty good, it just had nothing to really make it great. Very standard pizza at very standard prices ($3 white, $3.50 parm). Not bad, but nothing to go out of your way far.
