The One Where Jessica Isn't Completely Ranting.
I'm completely overcome with the giggles cos I just watched one of my cats fall into the recycle carton in our kitchen.
Back to the point. Politics have no place between friends. I was once told that this and religion were the two topics to lose friends the fastest on, and that's why I don't really discuss them with any of my friends. Every time I have I seem to have come up with a bad taste in my mouth by someone's preachiness because they are all knowing and apparently what they believe in has no faults, yet mine does. JUDGE JUDGE JUDGE.
This is precisely my point. Now, some people know my affiliation where politics are concerned, and if you don't that's something I probably won't ever actually talk about. The best way for me to put it is that I go for whoever I think is the best liar and leave it at that. On the rare occasion I have explained my choices and my concerns to people, strangers acquaintances and friends, to be slapped with 'Oh, well this is this and that is that and this is the law and blah blah blah'. I understand entirely what it is and what it means and how it is to be handled, and quite honestly, it irritates me to have people preach to me.
Some of you have seen my post a few days ago about looking at things from a different angle, and I don't feel that people understand what that means, and some of those who do lie about actually practicing it. For those who actually know me, I'm not a confrontational person, but I'm not a pushover. I know what I want and how to get it, but I am not so brash as to shove my thoughts down your throat. For example, I had a girl come up to my friends and I after we had a conversation about one of them needing a man, and the girl told my friend, "You won't be happy until you find a man who accepts Jesus into his life."
To be clear, I hear these kinds of phrases every now and then because it is common with my religion, so it didn't affect me. The girl told this to my friend who is Agnostic, and that didn't sit too well with her. Things escalated a bit and we arrived at the topic of religions, to which the girl began, once more, shoving Christianity down our throat claiming it was all mighty and the 'right' and 'good' religion. I simply replied that there was no such thing: The appearance of right and wrong as far as religion is concerned, to me, is based on nurturing, in which you are taught what is right and good for you and your people. You don't know any better that what you are taught (unless you branch out and learn for yourself, but that's a different topic). The girl, without looking at it from my perspective, simply said 'No. There is a wrong and bad religion.'
This irritated me. I understand where she was coming from, it's what she has been raised on and that's what I was raised on being Catholic (until I really put in some thought on the matter of religion). What I couldn't understand was why she felt the need to tell me no and throw in my face the fact that she thought I was an idiot.
It has happened multiple times since then, the most recent only being a few days ago. Everyone is different in one or many ways. It is what makes us unique and special. It saddens me that people are so quick to set into their views and not considerate others, especially when they are the ones who hope for the consideration of others. Learn to view things from multiple angles. Don't be so closed-minded while expressing how empathetic you truly are. This isn't angled at anyone in particular. It isn't angled at anyone at all, really. Just a thought, a hope, really, that people will stop saying they are understanding and actually be so.
xoxo, Jess

I've come to realize just how much I've wasted my time, my potential. Whatever I have burning inside of me, though many have left wounds along the way, I have wounded, neglected and caused far more damage to it than anyone.
I've got things in me, like everyone else has to offer, and I've been a complete and total underachiever. Many people along the way have led by example (both good and bad) showing me just how much harder I should be trying: family, the great friends, the no-longer friends, the lovers (the no-longer and potential varieties alike), complete strangers, and people I will never even meet.
Though I can acknowledge all this fault openly, there's an overwhelming feeling that this won't change. This scares me.
Perhaps my laziness will continue to rein over me. The desire to turn things around is very strong but sheer willpower is not the solution. I'm aware that it takes a combination of determination and hard work to get anywhere. Despite knowing these things, I'm held at a standstill.
I'm scared.
Scared of what it might mean to delve into it all and lose a part of myself, scared to fail, scared to get up and do something about it when I, in all honesty, have no idea if I will even be going in the right direction.
I've been attempting to make these fears, and more, wash away as I embark on this new journey, to a new and foreign place, where I will be alone and in search of more than just my soul's earthly intent.
Ireland cannot come soon enough. But, what happens after?
I have no fear in saying openly that I am lost.
so Lost.
I've said a lot and I mean A LOT of words in my short days. Yet no matter how many words I finally blurt, more and more well up each day. Constant pouring forth and yet no result. This floodgate remains open, it's contents never ceasing, never slowing, always gushing. These words, these things I've been crying out, these hopes, ideas, dreams, desires, frustrations, beliefs; so much of these things in me and they never find peace, never resolution, never accomplishment, always longing.
There is no emptying to what is here. It plagues me.

Conditions are never perfect.
It's that dazed and confused feeling that I just can't seem to shake.
I know I will, but I can only wonder: when I decide to look back on my life 10 years from now, will the innate nature of my character also be my biggest regret?
____________
Where do I start? Unfortunately nothing changes overnight, but I'm willing to make the change. I'm willing to make the change, but this pace I feel isn't fast enough. I'm aching to leap! I'm aching for change now! There must be a way to accelerate.
There's no such thing as running before walking. I acknowledge this.
I need a map, a guide. Where to start? I'm looking for peace, I'm looking for my dreams, I'm looking for my path. Perhaps a new approach? I just crave results.
I'm certain I'll find my way. I just want to be there.
I WILL be there. I just need to get out of this
