Honestly, considering how they move in the books, I've always seen Raven as the person who moves on the social aspect of the rebellion (so raising awareness with her music, helping them with her magic, helping people find their way) while Dexter and Maddie is probably the one who deals with the political aspect, so with structural reforms that aim to change the system as a modus operandi.
Yes! Rebellion against the Destiny System wise Raven is far more a figurehead than anything else. She would’ve been raised learning the solutions and option for far more ‘normal’ problems in her domains immediate vicinity it’s a whole new playbook that these new Rebels have to write from scratch!
Dexter and Maddie being a political team also makes so much sense, Maddie becoming student body co president her first time running for it and Dexter being an absolute research beast, pairing them up with Maddie’s people and solution skills and Dexter being able to translate what the stats he would gather actually mean to her in a way that makes Wonderlandian sense would make them unstoppable!
There’s also the part where they both love and care for the face of the rebellion and having Raven in front with them being able to relax performance wise to focus on their research and planning is perfect!
Dexter being from the Ever After royalty but being able to see the sides the hide from the public and Maddie being functionally an outsider on so many fronts, would realistically be amongst the least protected citizens and with the Jabberwocky accusation she intimately knows the feeling and how strict the system is for people who ‘don’t have a story’ bc they were all cut off from Wonderland, so while they all did want to complete their stories, for years it was known they functionally couldn’t.
So many angles and weak points covered by the range of people Raven has behind her!
