These Ponzu Burgers are a tasty mix of different tastes. They have all the good things about a regular burger, plus the tangy kick of ponzu sauce and the crispiness of quick pickles. Great for a unique and filling meal!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of Swiss cheese. 1/4 cup ponzu sauce. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tsp sesame oil. 1 tsp grated ginger. 1 clove garlic, minced. Salt and pepper to taste. For Quick Ponzu Pickles:. 1 cucumber, thinly sliced. 1/2 cup rice vinegar. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 tsp salt.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine the ground beef with grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into four patties. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover until melted. While the burgers are cooking, make the Quick Ponzu Pickles. In a separate bowl, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt are dissolved. Add the thinly sliced cucumbers and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes. In another bowl, mix ponzu sauce, mayonnaise, and sesame oil to create a creamy ponzu sauce. To assemble the burgers, spread the creamy ponzu sauce on the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Place a cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top. Add a generous serving of Quick Ponzu Pickles. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve the Ponzu Burgers with Quick Ponzu Pickles immediately and enjoy!
