How Long has it Been, Truly? | Closed RP with pookasophie
He knew it had been a while.
Jack had always known he was a horrible keeper of time\, but this time... perhaps he had overdone it. Time was so irrelevant. He was immortal and unchanging. There was so much to see and do... so many believers to make and meet. He berated himself for neglecting his first believers.
The street seemed largely the same as when he had last visited... except there were more cars in the driveway. The toys that were constantly spread across the front lawn were all gone, and even the fence had been taken down.
He now feared it had been far too long. It was almost as though time was suddenly catching up to him.
He floated down to the window where Jamie's room had been last he was here. But it was different... it was almost like he was in the wrong house. It was a girls room now... and not a little girl's room. This was the bedroom of a young woman. Ghosting through the window his feet landed on carpet that seemed to be the only familiar thing here. He clutched his staff to his chest like a security blanket, his blue eyes scanning everything in the room for some form of recognition, but there was nothing.
"Jamie...? Jamie, are you here?" he called, but he was feeling less and less that there would be a response by the second.
