Just a thought for those concerned about this removed memory.

My theory is that Mr. Poopy Butthole was practicing his proposal with Morty, not actually proposing to him.

Because Mr. Poopybutthole is from a dimension where Rick and Morty are a cartoon rather than real people (just like our dimension!), Rick needed to remove this memory from Morty in attempt to keep the proposal a secret from the future Mrs.

For the most part, the only episodes we seem to see of Rick and Morty are episodes that Morty has been allowed to retain in his memory. We can assume that this is the same for Mr. Poopybutthole’s dimension since they seem to watch the same episodes as us. So to prevent the future Mrs. from seeing the practice proposal, it was removed and not allowed to be “aired.”

You can also say that this might be the reason some of Morty’s other memories are removed as well. There are some embarrassing moments that Rick doesn’t only want to keep from Morty, but also wants to keep from being aired in “Viewer Dimensions.”

Because who wants all of their most embarrassing moments to be aired to entire alternate worlds?
