I'm going to blame tumblr brain worms for the Jeeves/ Bertie Wooster sex dream that I just woke up from.

Bertie provoked Jeeves into acting on the UST by having some kind of breakdown/ fit of madness and making awful decorating choices in their shared apartment. Splashing lime green paint around. Very funny upon reflection

Support for David and Wallis was considerably strong across the Atlantic, in Canada too there were similar opinions. Albert’s unpopularity in his ascension was not due to anything he had done but for the strong international support for the other royal couple.

An organisation called ‘Friends of the Duke of Windsor in the United States’ emerged shortly after the announcement of Albert’s visit was made. Among other unpleasant articles about Albert being the ‘colorless weak personality’ of the brothers published by international papers, were threats of assassination and ransom demands to restore Edward to the throne.

The UK saw it as a public relations disaster and those in the Royal Family still loyal to David lost all respect for him in his attempt to ENCOURAGE the ill feelings towards his brother when said brother was in a position unable to retaliate.
