The PARALLELS between the scene in Death Sets Sail when Kitty says (almost) sixteen is too old to join in a treasure hunt ("I'm only six!" "And I'm twenty, and, if I'm still not too old to be childish, then you certainly aren't.")

And the scene in Body In the Blitz when Hazel says (almost) eleven is too young to be involved in a murder ("And you're nineteen, and you're helping run a spy organisation. And I'm twenty, and I'm down to one working leg. War makes everyone ancient.")

It really hammers home how much things have changed in those intervening years, how everything feels so much more serious, even for people whose adolescence was largely preoccupied by getting into some kind of danger.

The especially sad part is that both Hazel and George (and May, listening, though I don't know if she would remember that specific interaction) would fully recognise the parallel. It's quite hauntingly similar circumstances, with Daisy gone, except this time there's so much uncertainty. It's even similar in that both times, they've been sort of betrayed by someone they trusted, but don't know yet. Kitty took Mrs Doherty's brooch - and Zosia almost killed the Inspector.

Both special, in a way, because of the connection to memories of Daisy (not to undermine the Inspector as a person in his own right haha).

Wonderfully tragic.

I finally drew George n Alexander ! Bro drawing men is so much harder with my mini research the “hourglass” was a desired look so I tried to make them have massive back and the blazers be more sinched LOL I hope it’s for everyday/daywear it’s hard to tell the difference between evening and day clothes -so far only colour has helped- any ways to be more accurate for them lm also mini hazel appreciation on the second slide Alex got a baddie (also the pose is a random photo I found on Pinterest also idk if George would smoke it part of the photo soooo )
