NOOOO I just had to think about Faith finding a dead bird (maybe at a point where she has left Rachel behind not too long ago yet) while wandering the county and it stirs up something inside of her, something she thought was already as dead as that little bird. it suddenly makes her doubts in the project and what Joseph did to her briefly resurface.
when she returns to the compound in the late afternoon Joseph notices that something is off. he takes her hands into his, enclosing them in his palms as if he is inviting them to pray together. she tells him about the bird while conveniently omitting the parts about her doubt. tears are slowly finding their way down her cheeks, dripping down her chin. a few fall into their hands.
Joseph listens and when she is done speaking he softly pressed a gentle kiss onto her forehead. His Faith… it hurts him to see her like this. He knows of her doubts though, he is the father after all, he would not be where he is if he didn’t know how to read people, and while he is making no mention of it he reassures her that within the project is the only place she will be safe. They are family now. They will take care of each other because blood is thicker than water (conveniently foregoing that she is not his blood after all but) He tells her that God has made them for each other. He has sent him an angel. He created her to serve the project, that is her purpose.
Willow sure did get lucky, don´t you all agree? (For a while, anyway...)
Season 1:
Buffy: Popular, trendy, care-free, loads of self-esteem Willow: Shy, meek, wears outdated and mismatched clothes, low self-esteem Xander: Goofy, unpopular, the Zeppo, no fashion sense, weird 90s haircut Cordelia: Popular, trendy, insensitive, insecure, occasionally wise Season 2:
Buffy: Unpopular, still trendy, not-so-care-free, shyer then before Willow: Shy, somewhat more assertive, a little more fashion sense than before Xander: Goofy, even more unpopular, still the Zeppo, no fashion sense Cordelia: A little less popular, nicer, insecure, occasionally wise
Season 3:
Buffy: Unpopular, quieter, more uptight, still has fashion sense though Willow: A lot more assertive, some fashion sense, not-so-empathic Xander: Beats himself up a lot, sarcastic, still the Zeppo, no fashion sense Cordelia: Nicer, in love with Xander, losing her popular status, occasionally wise Season 4 Buffy: Quieter, more insecure, unstable relationship, fashion sense still exists Willow: Good sense of fashion sense, oddly self-centered, not-so-empathic Xander: Quieter, sarcastic, no fashion sense, poor, doesn´t know his role Season 5
Buffy: A bit of a loner, hates herself, fashion sense becomes more adult-like Willow: Self-confident, great clothes, in a stable relationship, epic mojo girl Xander: Sarcastic, loner, some fashion sense, in a stable relationship Season 6
Buffy: Loner, cold, detached, was just ripped from heaven by her best friend Willow: Great clothes, practically glowing with happiness, in a stable relationship Xander: Moody, sarcastic, some fashion sense, in a relationship, drinks a lot Season 7
Buffy: Loner, in General-mode, detached, is kicked out of her own house Willow: Miserable, grieving, still managing to sound patronizing and self-centered Xander: Miserable, leaves Anya at the alter, constantly has to fix things Faith: Thrown into the role of leader, is unprepared, quieter, more mature
Joseph: Faith, I’ve entrusted you with the original copy of my book, but the Deputy is being a trash tornado and I wanted to check that you put it somewhere safe.
Faith: Yes Father. I put it in the head of your statue- it’s encased in concrete, hundreds of feet in the air, at the top of a mountain that’s only accessible by one winding road. And I put our followers in the statue, and all around the statue, and all over the mountain, and I armed them with with rocket launchers and helicopters-
Joseph: Hey, did you hear a loud explosion just now?
Faith: oh for fuck’s sake.
‘ We've got a mission here. - You’ve got a mission? I’ve been fighting demons since before you could shave. - Yeah, you’re a killer. ‘
Little sketch of Faith's sick days, nothing more...
