Alternate thoughts on energy needs/drains for hanyo
I think I like this mechanism better: Big permanent drain takes place during conception.
The continual demonic energy “nursing” through the pregnancy is of temporary strength, like it runs them down, but when they are out of the presence of their partner, they feel better and after baby is born, no more draining.
This would allow for partners to be “babysat” by other demons. “Jaken. Stand next to Rin. I have to go away for a few days. Do not ever leave her side.” as poor Jaken gets the equivalent of the demon flu because the babies are so strong and he’s not that powerful of a demon.
