‘He Never Had a Blitzø’

Vassago of the Ars Goetia stood on the balcony off of his study, the swirling vision before him taking his entire attention. He felt a deep sadness in the pit if his stomach as he watched his fellow Goetia dance with the imp that he loved more than anything.

He had been watching over Stolas from the shadows for some time out of concern especially concerning his blossoming love affair with the imp assassin Blitzø. When he came into his power he was told that he would have access to all things past and present. This was how he served the Goetia. He had a role to fill and a part to play and he played it well.

When Andrealphus, the pompous ‘marquis’ of hell launched the media circus of the trial against Stolas he knew he had to help. During the trial he spoke in Stolas’ defence and pleaded to have him present. Despite all of it, Stolas still risked everything to save the man he loved and even though he foresaw all these events prior, it still filled him with a sad jealousy as Stolas was living the life he desperately wanted.

As he stared sadly at the vision of Stolas and the imp sharing a romantic dance on Blitz’s balcony, the voice of the woman he shared his dwelling with spoke loudly, children ran at play, their voices rising and falling as they passed through the rooms of the manor. A felt a single tear well in his eye. To all appearances he had a life worth living but it wasn’t the life he wanted, he wasn’t happy. He longed for his own male lover to rescue him from this facade.

As he stood pondering, his age weighted on him. He didn’t have Stolas’ youth anymore and in many ways he felt his time to escape had passed and he was too fair ingrained into the life built for him without his input. He had played the part of the obedient good boy for the Goetia family for too many years.

He tapped his fingers on the railing and allowed a small, caring smile pass his beak. If he could not be rescued from this lie, he would do everything in his power to ensure that the young owl gets the life and love he wants; he would continue to protect and guide him as he always had and Stolas’ happiness would be good enough for him.

Vassago of the Ars Goetia. He had money. He had influence and legions of demons under his banner. He had the power to see the past and future in their entirety. He had it all.. but never had a Blitzø..
