An end of summer, fully decorated Christmas tree? Actually it’s one of our Asian Pear trees. If you slide left you can see the extent of some extreme malady that took most of its leaves and is probably starving the fruit. You’d never know that we were careful to use an organic spray and culled it a few times, but not enough. Oh well, so many things can befall a crop—even a little one like ours. A little over a year ago, August 21 (see gallery), I showed a picture of this tree a little leafier/healthier then. It’s a nice seasonal marker for us.
