Rainbeau In Reverse: Thank You

I’ll never forget playing “Lemonade” at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey while on the Halestorm tour and looking out and seeing a group of girls doing what is now known as the “Lemonade Dance.” These particular fans traveled from show to show to watch and support Halestorm over Thanksgiving week last year. After the show I realized it wasn’t just that group of ladies that had traveled together but a huge group of people that built friendships out of their love for Halestorm. They are known as the Freak Family and many are now also a part of our Dead Corps.
Upon watching the dancing during our set and meeting the fans afterwards, I saw that there was an entire support system of loving people that had accepted The Dead Deads as a part of their family. I began to understand at that moment that, even though I occasionally doubted myself, it didn’t matter because there was an entire group of people that believed in me and my band.
Before we played that night and before I saw the Lemonade Dance performed, Josh Smith’s dad told me backstage that the most important part of the show is the fans. He said that it will never matter how I feel before I play - whether sick or sad or whatever - because it isn’t about me, it’s about the amazing people in the audience and making sure they are having a great time.
From that day ‘til now, I have the mindset that I might not know how a fan’s day is going or what their life is like, but as soon as I hit the stage, I am there for them. I want to make sure they forget about whatever place they have come from and take them to a better place, even if it’s just for one night.
It’s amazing to see how much our Dead Corps has grown and to see them show up for our shows, because despite how bad of a day I have had, they always take me to a better place as well. The circle of love and energy at our shows is genuine and real. I am forever grateful to have met all of these beautiful people from tour, and although I might not have the Lemonade Dance down quite yet, thank you for making a memory that I will never forget.
I chose the group shot below because it is one of the first nights I knew that there were people who truly believed in me and would always be there as a support system.
I love you Dead Corps, and thank you for all of your love and support. All of you mean the world to us, and we will never forget you.
