Chatime is a large Taiwanese chain with over 800 outlets worldwide. The San Gabriel shop is new and their only SGV location so far. Chatime emphasizes their use of high tech equipment to make the perfect cup of tea. This location only has drinks.

Drinks include fruit tea, milk tea, jelly drinks, smoothies, pop tea, juice, and fresh tea. The tea drinks are made with one of five kinds of pre-brewed tea. You can specify how sweet you’d like your drink, how much ice you’d like and specify add ins. The roasted milk tea had a nice roasted flavor. They use powdered milk which makes the drink less creamy. They didn’t add too much ice (I specified regular ice) and it wasn’t too sweet. The tapioca balls were lightly sweetened (they don’t have honey boba), a little hard in the center and a little gooey on the outside.

Add ins are 50 cents and they have the usual: tapioca pearls, jellies, red bean, pudding and grass jelly.

Free wi-fi. Earn rewards with FiveStars. The girl who works there wasn’t friendly at all and seemed more interested in eating lunch (sitting in the dining area) with her bf than serving customers.
