Pop This! #76: 13 Reasons Why (the first 3 episodes)
A beloved and controversial YA book, 13 Reasons Why crashed onto Netflix a few weeks ago and quickly became one of the streaming service’s most polarizing shows. Which makes sense, considering its 13 episodes unfold in the aftermath of a teenage girl who’s taken her own life and left behind a series of tapes that reveal the who, how, and eventually why, of what prompted her suicide. It’s complicated, dark, and deeply triggering. It’s also, as a TV show, chock full of spoilers, so join Lisa and Andrea as they discuss the first three episodes only and talk about everything that makes 13 Reasons such compelling, crushing, and troubling television.
