Introducing Chess, the lead single from Petite Noir's debut EP The King of Anxiety, which is now on the horizon. The album is the result of the project by Yannick Ilunga, a singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from South Africa, who previously is known for fronting electronic band Popskarr. It's misty, fresh and just sounds pretty darn cool; a sound testament to the sprawling sound that comprises the 'indie' label now today.

I went on an internet digging journey today for more music from South African artist Yannick Iluga just out of curiosity  and I discovered a few things for myself. Apparently he's apart of a group for a few years named Popskarr, an electronic duo that includes himself & Terrance Pearce. They have sixteen tracks posted on their Soundcloud profile & one official music video to my knowledge (hear an unreleased song here). This was a great find considering that I thought Yannick had only a handful of solo songs.

Now that's out of the way. here's his newest music video "Pressure", Yannick promises more music before the year ends.

Petite Noir is the solo project of Popskarr singer/guitarist Yannick Iluga. The Cape Town native's first offering under the moniker came back in June with "Disappear". This was soon followed by breakthrough "Till We Ghosts". And today comes new single "Pressure". It's unknown if any of these tracks will appear on a future album, but Iluga has promised more music to come before year's end.

A song for a lost love (she's a ghost now) that mixes the singers love of South African Kwaito beats with Joy Division style post-punk.
