Friend was being transphobic to fit in, knowing damn well that I, a trans man, was in the room. When she was called out on her shit for making everyone uncomfortable, she sent me a half assed apology saying she wasn’t “making fun” of anyone (she was). Then she texted the person who called her out saying she was upset that they would assume she was transphobic (even tho she (and a friend) were being transphobic, calling a transfem person that they both knew “it” with emphasis on the word, and knowing that “it” is not that person’s pronouns).
Pissed me off, the person that initiated the transphobia is queer. The aforementioned friend is not. They were only being transphobic towards this person because, apparently, they had a bad interaction last year.
Fun fact! Transphobia isn’t cool! If you’re transphobic just because other people are, you’re part of the problem! Don’t be transphobic!
