The "bosc de les Estunes" (Estunes forest) is a rather small patch of oak forest crisscrossed by large cracks in the rock. Legends say that here dwell the goges or tunes, the faeries of the Banyoles lake.

The goges or tunes is are a variation of the aloges or dones d'aigua ("water women"), a common being in Catalan mythology as we've explained before. Water women are a kind of fae women who live in fresh water and live for hundreds of years. In the area around the Banyoles lake, they are believed to have their palace in the cracks of these rock formations, and are said to go spin next to the Banyoles lake at night. Some say that at night they have heard loud music, shouting and laughter coming from these cracks, because the goges are throwing parties.

If someone wanted to go find them, they wouldn't be able to reach their hidden palaces. The legend says that the goges knit a very thin thread, so delicate that it's invisible to the simple human eye. With it, they have created an invisible net that keeps unwanted people out. And if someone made it through and managed to arrive to their palaces, immediately the rock paths would close and leave the intruder disoriented.
