Portugala inchoata shells are usually an immaculate cream or orange color with white and dark red stripes (left) but sometimes i'll find one with dark mottling, with the one on the right probably being the most extreme example. still very recognizable even for someone who sucks at snail ID like me, but i appreciate the stylization

the conspicuously named Portugala inchoata is an unassuming but very recognizable endemic little snail that i find very often around here. they keep to themselves but occasionally go on uncharacteristic little daytime journeys like this one, who apparently wanted to confirm whether the middle of the road contains bad drivers or a delicious salad. i prevented it from finding out
i'm a big fan of those pink and white lateral stripes on an orange shell. got kind of a lesbian flag thing going on
