In this recipe for Portuguese beer chicken, garlic, onion, and aromatic spices are mixed with the unique flavor of Portuguese beer to make a tasty and comforting dish.

Ingredients: 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces. 3 cloves garlic, minced. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 2 bay leaves. 1 tablespoon paprika. 1 teaspoon dried oregano. 1 teaspoon dried thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 cup Portuguese beer. 2 tablespoons olive oil.

Instructions: Sliced onion, bay leaves, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper should all be mixed with chicken pieces in a large bowl. Toss the chicken to cover it all over. Put the meat in the fridge with the lid on for at least an hour, or better yet, overnight. Put olive oil in a big skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. Put the chicken pieces in the pan with the skin side down. Cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown. Add the Portuguese beer to the chicken and cook it until it's done. Turn down the heat, cover, and let it cook for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is soft and cooked all the way through. If you want, you can serve it hot and top it with fresh herbs. Have fun with your tasty Portuguese beer chicken!
