Well, calling Posey straight and characterizing him showing proof of someone sending him threatening messages implying he’s queer baiting, after he came out as queer, yeah, THAT could be homophobic. The guy had a burner account send him death threats, call him straight and use racial slurs. That anon, who posts the same shit around Tumblr & Twitter, threatened him while using racial slurs. They threw a violent bigoted tantrum. Again. And got called on it.
I've been online for a VERY long time. This is not the first time something like this has happened and it's not the last. You have to understand the difference between someone truly upset, and a troll.
Posey should have done what we told him to do the last time this happened to him, block, report, delete, move on. The troll didn't care about QB'ing, they didn't care about Posey's claim to queerness, they cared about being a dick on the internet.
Again, we're dealing with issues of what "should" vs what "is". You cannot control people. Especially on the internet, especially when literally millions of people have access to you. You have to curate your experience. Whenever Posey posts one of these ridiculous tirades yelling at him, all it does is activate his stans to terrorize everyone on the internet. Trying to apply social justice morays to a friggin troll is insulting, and gross. They didn't even use the right racial slurs, why are we taking them seriously?
They get called on it constantly, they're not going to stop. The thing that has to change is the reaction until they get the message they can't get to you anymore.
