What was is that Tyler Posey said about sterek ? I must have missed it a little while ago..

A few years ago he said that Sterek was “bizarre, weird and twisted” and that anyone watching TW for Sterek was watching it for the wrong reasons.

what's your opinion on tyler posey's problematic behavior? purposely using homophobic slurs to hurt sterek shippers and teen wolf fans, claiming shipping non-canon pairings is extremely offensive towards everyone involved in the show and doesn't make any sense, openly joking about other people's sexuality and personal struggles just for laughs and to get some pity attention... what do you think about tyler posey as a person?

Well i think it should be pretty obvious that all of those things piss me off, and there’s no excuse for any of it, because he never learns from any of it and doesn’t apologize (except for his latest snapchat stunt, if you count that apology his reps wrote him), he doesn’t care how many people he hurts, and in my eyes that just makes him a big old jerk. Which doesn’t mean that he can never be nice or is an awful villain and that no one can ever like him, but personally I wouldn’t want to spent time with him, cause I embody everything he hates and mocks. I think he needs to grow up real fast and get humble.

remember when posey claimed that anyone who watches tw and loves a character who's not scott mccall or loves a slash ship that has nothing to do with him watches the show for the wrong reasons? posey offending fans just because he couldn't stand someone/something else stealing his spotlight and taking all the attention away from him and purposely used homophobic slurs to hurt them was just so nice... especially for people who got bullied and called "weird, twisted and bizarre" all their life.

oh I remember vividly. The biggest tempertantrum I ever witnessed. And so many people fall for it..

TBH I'm still grumpy at Posey for the "watching for the wrong reasons" thing bc I knew this one girl who was watching just because she thought the actors were really hot, and I still watch because I'm really interested in the meta side of the show. Those are pretty different reasons to watch the same show, but is one more valid than the other? I don't think so. It's not like if you watch the show purely for Sterek there'll be less of it for everyone else.

Oooh that infamous, stupid comment! You should read it as “Only I am important and I want you to pay attention to me only me, me, me, me, me cause I’m so awesome and funny, see I made a fart joke, I’m so great!”

There is definitely no such thing as ‘wrong reasons for watching’, there is no such thing as the artist dictating exactly how, when and why people consume their work and what they like/dislike about it. Once it’s released the artist needs to step back and see what kind of reaction they provoked. And if they don’t fucking like that reaction, that’s on them!! Then they fucked up and made the thing in a way that they don’t like and they have to change something about how they make their art! No blame whatsoever on the viewer. If anything, the artist should take that as an opportunity to either A) change their art/put something new and exciting in there or B) use the viewers interest and show them what else there is as well! Cause just because someone starts watching for one certain aspect doesn’t mean they can’t find new reasons and fall in love with other things! It’s all potential for good things, if you just freaking use it!

But how would someone as immature as Posey know that? All he sees is what he wants. And if he doesn’t get that, then he throws a tantrum and puts the blame somewhere else. Ideally on fans, cause it’s so easy to shit on them. Fans ask weird questions, care for bizzare charcters/storylines, make twisted fanwork. Cause if they interpret it differently than he does, or find a message that wasn’t put there intentionally, they are doing it wrong. At least in his eyes.

The good thing though is, that people don’t give a fuck about what he thinks. Most people went ‘Well, now I’m gonna love Sterek more than ever! But I don’t need canon for it!” and they made amazing fanwork, while abandoning the show that didn’t want them. And in the end that means Posey is gonna be out of a job and be recognized more for the stupid comments he made than anything else. And that’s what I call karma.
