Happy Pan Pride Day!!!

It's Pan Pride Day (Dec. 8th), which is the start of Pan Week! That means it's time for all you loud, proud pans to show off that pan pride!

This week is all for you! So have fun and celebrate that wonderful, beautiful pan identity of yours!

And remember: don't let anyone get you down! Being pan is valid and awesome, and no one can change that! Never forget how amazing you and your pan identity are!

2) When did you realize you’re pan?

one or two years ago, actually! i used to identify as bi before that, then i found out about pansexuality and i thought it fit me better and i was more comfortable with it, so i started identifying as pan!

7) What’s your favorite part of pan culture?

i'm not sure on what pan culture is exactly, everyone keeps saying something different, but probably the fluffy and oversized sweaters/hoodies, because they are the warmest things EVER, especially in winter, and they're so comfy, i always wear them.

i think the pan community is very kind. we get a lot of discourse, but we are always kind, because the pan blogs i follow are all super kind!

hi there! this is Pan Week post #2 :-) I feel like there are a lot of misconceptions regarding pansexuality and bisexuality, so decided to take this opportunity to clear some up :) I'd like to add a lil PSA that this does NOT mean pan people and bi people are sworn enemies or whatever — I just feel that it's about time people started respecting each other more, and I'm all for bi/pan solidarity. I think it would make the world a much better place.

Not every pan person feels included in the Bi Week festivities, even though the “bi+” umbrella has been sporadically used. And that’s valid. Pan people do not have to force ourselves to feel represented by a label we haven’t chosen for ourselves, and let’s be real, a label we are often invisible under.

So, Pan Week.

This week I'll be posting things related to spreading positivity,awareness and acceptance about pansexuality, so I hope y'all will support me and every other pansexual/panromantic this week while we celebrate our sexuality! 💖

pansexuality is NOT about dating trans and non binary people. stop implicating that this sexuality is more "superior" when our actual definition is that gender isn't a determining factor in our attraction to people. yall keep spewing the whole "all sexualities could date a trans or nonbinary person!!!!" but yet the same time put pansexuality on high moral standards by saying our reputation, ( like annalise keating, the thing about harry, etc. ), isn't enough, or the right reputation. i've seen people dismiss that annalise is pan because of how the writers confirmed it OFF screen rather than on screen. we keep saying over and over how pansexuality isn't just about dating trans people and i keep seeing "pan isn't the only identity who would date a trans person!!!" well no shiT a hetero person could date a trans person. those posts/tweets that keep popping up about that just prove how this "community" doesn't listen to us. you're like "yeah!!! pansexuality is valid!! but lol don't you know it's harmful to bisexuality tho."

Oooh, it’s exciting to get an ask from you! Ahhhh, where do I start?

9) Who’s a pan character or celebrity you like? I gotta rep James T. Kirk, what a character. Despite what popular culture says about him, he’s actually quite the opposite and a role model and a lovely character. I’d go on but there’s a lot of meta posts online with over 10K+ notes somewhere on this site that you can read about it.

10) Do you have any pan headcanons? Huh. Is this supposed to be about characters or a specific character in general? I’m kinda confused about this question.

12) What’s a myth about pan people that bothers you? Other than people thinking it’s the same as bi (it’s not) or that pan people can’t have preferences/they must like everyone? Or it being inherently a transphobic identity? I think that covers it all. I’ll spare y’all all the reasons why it bothers me because that’s enough for an entire rant post.

21) What’s some advice you have for younger pan people? It’s ok if it takes you a long time to figure out your identity. Many of us who are pan didn’t figure it out until way later. It may seem rough when everyone else doesn’t understand what being pan is or might make some horrible assumptions about you because you’re pan or try to dictate “you aren’t really pan but something else”, but remember you’re not alone: there’s plenty of us here who will support you, and that what you feel and experience and know deep down about yourself is valid and real. The people who care about you will want to know and learn about what it is to be pan if they’re misinformed or have no idea what it’s like. 

Believe in yourself, you are wonderful and you’re worthy of care and love.
