hi! do you know of any fics where Mickey isn’t in prison in season 6 or 7? Like ones where he’s basically written into the canon for those seasons instead of in prison or the escape plot??

Joy of rediscovering you - Mickey never went to prison and he is completely written into the canon of S6.

to stop our hearts from drowning - Mickey gets out of prison six months after being arrested for a crime he didn't actually commit.

to think that we could stay the same - Mickey gets out in a few days after the break up, because there's no evidence.

when the party's over 'verse series - they let Mickey out of jail after 12 hours and he doen't want to run back to Ian. Mickey is written into the canon of S6.

Hey! There are two options with Ian waiting for Mickey - after S5 and after S9. So here are some fics for both options :) And thank you!

Post S5:

The Sun, Chasing the Moon - After one year Ian comes to visit Mickey again and tells him that he will wait for him, seriously this time.

Furlough - Mickey is in prison and Ian is waiting for him. Some circumstances give him a chance to spend 24 hours out of prison.

sideways - Ian attempts to make amends. Mickey tries to stay strong.

Lie if you have to - Mickey gets out of prison after six years. Ian has been waiting for him. Mickey still has a hard time adjusting to being out.

Shackled - Ian tried to move on but not even prison could keep them apart.

Not Just Penpals - What if Ian didn't completely leave Mickey all alone in prison?

Post S9:

Dreaming of a Shitty Apartment - A post 9x06 fic about Ian and Mickey surviving by dreaming and hoping.

when you get there you'll know - Ian gets out of prison 352 days before Mickey does. They do their best to make it through.

golden boy, my world tilts for you alone - Ian is home from prison, but nothing feels right.

Held In Abeyance - After serving his two year sentence with Mickey at his side, Ian is released. He attempts to adjust to life on the outside while Mickey serves his last 14 months with a new cellmate.

Hey do you know any canon divergent fic from S7 where Mickey gets released from prison early and stays in southside and Ian is still with Trevor? The story kinda develops from there like the way natural progression would have been.

This is really all I want from the show. This fic centers on Ian/Mickey but gives all the characters their own scenes from their POV and background storyline. By the end, the fic has resolved a whole show’s worth of issues that it’s tackles. It develops Lip’s alcoholism before the show covered it, allowed Debbie a future in which she is still likeable but suffered similarly to the show, Mandy deals with her internalized feelings, Fiona struggles with being a mom to her siblings while wanting to have her own life, and Ian and Mickey find each other again. Without spoiling it, it also covers a scene I hope the show can do justice to this season.
