I haven't done a full piece in a while so it was nice to finally get back into it. I'm looking into finding a way to sell prints at some point so this will probably be for sale at some point for anyone interested.

The title is because this takes place post botw and pre totk. So while the blood moon is inactive, they both remember it all too well. They are also out of place, ghosts in their own world. They are a haunting.

I have a lot of trouble with colors so this was fun to mess with, shoutout to my dear friend @noose-lion for the help with colors and background

Also the colors in the background and on Link's arm wrap and tunic are a fun little nod to the fierce deity, because why not

Terrako likes to ride on the Master Cycle with Zelda. It has a little compartment where it stored anything it can use as fuel and will present it to her when it wants to go for a ride (like a dog or cat would). It even notes Zelda's concerns regarding the fuel (such as what is or isn't wasteful/damaging).

It really helps Zelda relax and adjust to a peaceful life after living towards the sealing of the Calamity.

based on a certain fanart i reblogged and mention my kogha x link fic i was working {ideas and didn't write out yet} ages ago and didn't post.

my actual notes between me and my friend abou this:

What if... link has been marriage scammed before. But he didn't know it before someone claimed that they'd married him and he had to find out how to divorce them and be like "hey i don't like u like that and also im broke af amd a workaholic and v likely to die in combat so ud get literally nothing from this. U deserve better than me trust me ik myself" . He could have gotten "married" like 8-9 times over the years and is like, the go to specialist for how to propose to someone of a specific race bc he had to figure out how not to get scammed again. (Revali could have proposed to him omg.... mipha could have tried to marry him with the shirt.... the possibilities r endless....)

Possible link: I've been married like 7 times and I've never even kissed someone let alone gotten laid

One of the regions could have the ancient greek proposal of tossing an apple at someone and link caught and ate it bc he needed the hearts but that was like fucking vows

(The real reason y the yiga r after him: a young kohga tried to marry him (sheikah live for a long time and for all we know he was a teenager back before the calamity) and didn't take their divorce well)

(I'm joking here, this is supposed to be funny and terrible but mostly funny)

His good looks have been a blessing, and a curse.

Honestly kohga definitely tried to marry Link and either got rejected because Link didn't know about the proposals or he hardcore rejected him. Or Link divorced him and kohga got incredibly pissed because Link didn't know they were even married

Kohga got unintentionally left at the alter.

Imagine if link had been into kohga but accidentally left him at the alter due to the calamity and didn't get the memo of marriage.

The yiga blade masters were his wedding entourage,

That's why all the yiga have a vendetta against Link and remember him in totk and 100yrs later. He's their boss's ex fiance.

KOGHA KNOWS LINK EVEN THOUGH HE WAS DISGUISED AS A YIGA. HE KNEW AT FIRST GLANCE.

the plot was Sidon going to Link's house in hateno or vice versa link goes to the domain, but it worked better for Sidon doing it. To get married for tax benefits or because of something similar. Link agrees but "Oh yeah i need to divorce Kogha then" Pre calamity he married Kogha accidentally as i stated previously. link had accidentally done that quite a bit after he woke up from the shrine.

Link would infiltrate the Yiga hideout, again. potentially get captured only for Link to nonchalantly just say "we need to get divorced"

the other Yiga freaking out because "master kogha got married to his enemy?? The hero of Hyrule wants to divorce him?? what's going on"

now the big question; is should i write this out and would people read it?

It’s been on his mind for a while. Usually, he suppresses the thought with something else and for some time, it works. Yet that night, it badgers and badgers until Link thinks he might burst. The words fall from his lips before he can think to stop them,

“Do you prefer the old me?”

Zelda’s fingers still in his hair. Whatever absentminded braid she’d been working on falls short in the absense of her work. There’s quiet, like she’s thinking of what to say, and then,

“What?” Her voice sounds as confused as he imagines her face. He guesses he wasn’t very clear with his question.

“I mean, the me from before…before the Calamity,” he clarifies. He can’t remember much of what he was like, but sometimes he wonders. Sometimes, Zelda weeps at night, and no matter how tightly he holds her, he knows there are pieces of her he cannot put back together again—in the same way that pieces of himself have been lost to her, too. They are two shattered persons trying to make one whole, symphonic picture that could not fit the frame it once sat in. He wants to know where she stands.

“No,” she says, like it’s the easiest answer in the world. Her hands slip from his hair and find his shoulders instead, her featherlight touch dancing over the rough skin of his scars.

“You…prefer me now?” he asks, brows furrowed.

“No,” Zelda repeats. Now he’s confused, but before he can open his mouth, her hands are ghosting his sides in the way she knows makes him jump. He knows what’s coming, but he’s powerless to stop the poke to his sides that makes him squirm. She does it again, and again, until he’s doubled over with laughter.

A soldier, ticklish. How utterly humiliating.

Except, when he turns onto his back so that he can try to use his hands as a line of defense, Zelda’s grin makes it hard to hold to that embarrassment.

“No need to compare,” she says. “I like you. I like Link. But I especially like a laughing you.”

She pokes again. His hands grasp blindly for hers as he gasps for breath.

“I like a smiling you,” Zelda continues, and when she’s poking him, it’s hard to gain control of the situation. It’s a good thing Calamity Ganon never learned of a ticklish hero.

His hands catch hers at last, but she already has them over his head, pressing down into the bedsheets. She leans in close, her nose brushing his just enough to make him dizzier than the tickle fit had, and his face burns. He knows it’s flustered from all of the laughter, but Zelda makes it no better. He can’t catch his breath; not when she’s so close to kissing him.

“…and I love you most like this. Happy, flustered, looking at me like I’ve given you the world.”

“You have,” he replies without missing a beat. Without her, he would not have had a world to return to.

Zelda smiles, and when she finally grants him a taste of it, he decides whatever distinctions lay between the old and current him make no differences in how deeply he loves her, and how far he is willing to go to prove it.
