Devil Hunters, Married Couple
Setting: Post-DMC 4 and Pre-Before the Nightmare; Devil May Cry Description: With Opal and Dante's twin daughters, Selene and Evalynn, they spend time with a rooftop picnic with cuddles in a hammock in the dusky sky. Requested: Yes - Requested by @madi3sterling The rooftop of Devil May Cry has bathed by the sunset in the horizon with the city humming with automotive and walking traffic. Opal, walking barefoot while wearing one of Dante's old shirts over leggings, tended the grill while humming a random tune in mind. As she was sure that the food was well done, she felt his arms around her waist with his chin resting on her shoulder. He drawls playfully, "You know, I'm lucky that I made the right choice to marry you due to your cooking skills." Opal scoffs with a chuckle while pointing a skewer at him, "I married you because I love you for being you... Flirting with me during the gigs and being there when each of us needed the other the most, even if we became parents sometime after I agreed to be your girlfriend. " He takes the skewer as he took a bite while she spoke before saying, "Okay, maybe it was for the cooking and the mid-battle flirting." Opal chuckles before eating with him, trading bites and reminiscing the old times, whether in missions or spending time with their twin daughters, Selene and Evalynn. Through Opal's teasing, Dante retaliates by pulling her on his lap while playfully refusing to let her go until she admitted that his pancakes were improved throughout the years through tickles. After setting the plates aside to be washed later on when they're done eating, both of them curled up in the hammock with a blanket big enough to cover both of them. With the stars emerging in the night sky, both of them began to stargaze while Dante rubbed soft yet lazy circles on her hip, roughly where her scar starts. With Opal's opalescent turquoise eyes becoming distant for a moment, she then asked, "You think the girls would do as well as both of us?" "I'm pretty sure," Dante replies with his blue-gray gaze meeting hers, "Besides, Nero needs at least a thing or two about the family business. They'll be fine." Opal sighs softly, "Yeah, even if he still has to realize that he is our nephew. Besides that, I feel like the girls are growing up fast." "Too fast," Dante quips, "I still remember the time when Selene tried to progress to walking while Evalynn was bum-shuffling, then crawling backwards." Opal laughs at the memory, knowing how each twin daughter had learned things differently, "Yet one kind of picked up the devil-may-care attitude from you." "While the other picked up her ways from you," He spoke before he kisses her temple. They continue to stargaze while being in each other's arms, happy to be married, especially in secret before the girls were born, and surrounded by love, family, and legacy. Right now, they're not the Crystal Witch and the Legendary Demon Hunter. They're simply Dante and Opal, husband and wife, warriors and dreamers, building and living in a world where the next generation of demon hunters thrive.
