I'm about 10 weeks into my transition and my sister asks me "why are the ends of your hair brown and the roots black" and I'm just like hush I know .... I know .....
Transitioning struggle part 2
This week has been quite the transition not only in my journey of going natural but also moving on a college campus! The weather has been unusually cold and wet all throughout the week which had me doing Bantu knots, every night. Not cool. I have been so tempted to get a relaxer. I called my mom complaining about how I was having to do my hair every night and she felt that I should get one too. I've been on the fence all week. I think about getting a relaxer and then I'll scroll down my tumblr and see my potential hair future and I'll change my mind. Well last night I had a bit of enlightenment. I stared at myself in the mirror and thought about how long and how much energy I've put into this transitioning process. All of the research and all of the progress I've seen. 10 months isn't that long but I'm just about halfway natural, which is a great milestone for someone not big chopping. This is my second time attempting to go natural, and I told myself I would go all the way this time. I'm going to stick to my word and hope that my mom didn't make me a hair appointment for tomorrow lol! Micros or box braids will be in SOON for sure so stay tuned! I really do appreciate ya'll following my journey, especially my natural/ transitioning followers for virtually being there and motivating me with advice, pictures, and stories throughout this awkward hair phase!
I'm tired of paying $300 every 6 months for extensions. I'm 7 months post relaxer and I just want to chop it off. Every bit of this relaxed hair. Maybe I should cut off one inch a month. I just don't want to rely on extensions anymore. I miss my long curls. I may be impatient but maybe I need this change.
I have been transitioning to natural hair for 6 months now !!!
Wash Day: 8 weeks post
At this time I will wash my hair with a sulfate free shampoo: Bioinfusion Hydrating Shampoo. I really love it. I bought it from Walgreens just because it was on sale and I needed a new sulfate free shampoo. I will wash my hair with the Regular Wash products but just replacing the Hello Hydrations Shampoo with Bioinfusion Hydrating Shampoo.
