And no need to worry about offending others with certain topics and no need to use readmores within the writing. An electronic journal.

Novel posts are functionally similar to link posts. Novel are just that idea, allowing more room to credit the author as recommendations. Which could link to where to read the book online, where to purchase, or even linking to user created novels or fiction. Allows use of a readmore on the post where they could post their own story or link to an outside source. The main use of this post type is to have a better post for reading novels or fanfiction. Also have a dropdown rating system that has the general reading guidelines. (General audience, teen+, mature and explicit for very basic.)  - The novel option is for a nicer set up for works of writing within fandoms or not. Novel posts will have the rating system with five options. All, general, teen, mature, and explicit. The box is hidden again after hitting the minus "-" button.  - The advanced search allows the user to look for specific posts without seeing certain things. (i.e. looking for images of a show without seeing posts about the show.) I would talk about excluding tags, but feel that topic is for another day. Tumblr is rather large, so applying such setting would cause traffic I'm sure, but I would be willing to sit through.
