Ford has no choice but to put up with all of Bill's antics, even when that includes the triangle climbing into a fishing net out of pure curiosity.
Yay, two arts in two days (conveniently forgets that I started both ages ago)! Inspired by ‘What's an ersatz phantom limb, anyway?’ by curiousCanine. It’s a wonderful little fic that sits snuggly in my chest like a fluffy warm kitten. There’s a sadness to it, but it always makes me smile.

Is it really that poorly drawn you had to kill me. Im sorry I'm burned out I can't do much
Woah haven't done art in a while. (This is an older drawing I just colored it)
Alternate for Stan getting his memories back, where he actually thinks he is Stanford. It's almost impossible to convince him otherwise because it makes just enough sense.
Not only are his most recent memories him pretending to be Ford, but he also has the memories of them as children. They were always together, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. These two sets of memories would be remembered the quickest. (The drifter years are lost for a while without anything to remind him.)
Since he had to learn a lot for the portal, he believes himself to be smart enough to be 'Stanford who has forgotten things.' Imagine they try to convince him by giving a math problem, but he can actually do it.
People in town would not be helpful. To them, he has literally always been Stanford Pines.
To make it worse, he has had self-loathing for most of his life, so imagine him saying something terrible about himself to Ford. Ford has to grapple that this is what Stan thought Ford thought. (And he's a little right)
Oh god, what if he thinks 'his brother Stanley' is actually dead because he remembers being Stanford at the funeral. He cries when he thinks Ford is his 'dead brother.'
im so obsessed with how ford might flinch at like, any mention of "sixer" from stan.
or how ford thinks seeing stan with glasses is so strange- (particularly when the light or sunset catches on the glass just right, turning them yellow)
and stan being obsessed with gold is nothing new, but mentioning to buy gold "just in case, poindexter. we're sailin' to other countries, dollars isn't universal, but gold is" makes ford's anxiety twitch. just a little.
or stan's little way of choosing something- often with the niblings. "eeny meeny miney, you"
stan's snake oil salesman-speak is familiar, for too many ways now.
at least he's not bleeding from his eyes. or obsessing over a triangle-shaped con. stan would have seen through cipher in a way ford didn't.
anyway, cipher is thoroughly beaten. wiped from stanley's mind just like they planned.
then again, stan shouldn't have been able to get his memories back. nor so many, so quickly.
stanford should trust this has worked- trust his brother more. stanley has more than proven his worth, his skill.
if cipher truly returned, anyway, then ford would recognize it instantly (from the muse he thought he knew, and the brother he doesn't know anymore?). there would be more signs.
right?
Dipper gets a therapy cat, that’s it, that’s the post
