Ok people, real talk: going off Whole30 is hard. I mean it's easy to eat freely but I really don't want to gain the weigh back that I lost. Too bad, it's already creeping back!
So here's the deal, no one really reads this blog (if you want my real blog, please visit shapinup) and it's more for me to keep track of things and for those interested, to follow along, so I'm just going to go out and give my numbers because who cares. Lots of the blogs I follow (like eminnyc & losingweightinthecity) have been recently doing this with their challenges so why not join the fun.
Pre-Whole30 Weight: 122.5 (please note, my highest weight in life ever.)
Immediate Post-Whole30 (as in Day 31) Weight: 113
1 Week Post-Whole30 Weight: 117.5 (WHY!)
Here's what I'll say about my weigh-in this morning. I was not good last night or the night before with my eating. I didn't eat things that were necessarily bad but I had a lot of things, a lot of weird combos of food that didn't need to be eaten. And I ate them around 8-10pm which is on the late side. So while I was sad to see 117.5 this morning I would not consider myself overly surprised by the number. Oh and if I'm being completely honest, I weighed myself before spin class and I was 118.5 and was so sad that I let myself weigh in after class and was slightly happier to see 117.5 and that's what I'm sticking with.
Also, not sure who else feels this way, but I think I have a weight that my body just reverts back to if I'm not extremely careful with what I eat. That weight is 118. I'm not unhappy at 118 but I'd like to be in the 112-116 range instead, I'm much happier and feel better in that range. It's annoying how careful I have to be to stay under 118 but I really want to make it happen. My weigh in this morning is a wake up call to get it back together.
I haven't really strayed a ton from Whole30 rules but I've eaten more than I was on the plan and was less careful in general. Sure, I didn't indulge in the cupcakes at work but I did have wine and then I did come home and eat all the healthy things I could get my hands on. Healthy or not, I overdid it the night before weighing in.
I'm going to weigh in every Wednesday morning. I'll give you a heads up that next Wednesday will likely be terrible as I'm about to spend 4 days eating my way through New Orleans. After that I'm really going to stay on track.
I'm going on a surf and yoga retreat in early December and for that I want to feel my best. Like hang-out-in-a-bikini-all-day-every-day best. And lastly, my Whole30 before and after pictures are a serious wake up call. My face looks swollen in the before and thin and awesome (IMHO) in the after. Let's try to stick with that after photo, shall we?
