The Devaro Twins
It's been a minute since I updated my pinned post to mention the twins, so I thought I'd write a short post about them.
Jason and Jaina were born several decades after the collapse in a settlement outside an old US naval base.
As mentioned before, much of America became scattered colonies focused on military bases, as the cities quickly became lawless mazes, with other townships focusing around industries the population was able to maintain for a time, such as mines, oil fields, or foundries.
Jason and Jaina dreamed big, having grown up on their grandfather's stories about the world before the collapse, and wanted to set out as Traders to be able to see the sights. Jason focused on combat skills, having seen what Raiders could do after an attack took their parents. Jaina wanted to focus on the art of barter and trade, feeling safe that--once they set out--her brother could handle any dangers.
Traders had risen from a mix of the surviving truckers and some of the more adventurous military, working together to try and stitch back together the America they knew or had heard of. With the world falling into a more wild place outside of towns, these Tradesmen turned to stories of cowboys and samurai for inspiration, with third and fourth generation Traders tending towards unique styles of dress to set them apart.
And that's where we find Jason and Jaina now, traveling as Tradesmen to see other places, to learn stories and offer help where they can.
I don't have art of them, but feel free to ask them directly for parts of their stories. At the moment, you'll get answers from whichever point in time they would have such an answer; a question on places they've been might be answered by older versions, while a question about their home might be answered by younger versions.
There are events that shaped them, some rough which I'll try to remember to tag and give a warning at the start, but in general they are calm and loyal, seeking to be kind, but accepting no threat. A danger gets one chance to back away; even Jaina is capable of protecting herself now.
